Spinning

Looking for a spinning class in Hong Kong that feels more like an event than a workout? Step into the Cave, XYZ’s theatrical indoor cycling room in the heart of Central. Pulsating lights, curated playlists and expert instructors carry you through sprints, climbs and choreography built to lift your energy from the first pedal stroke. Every ride is open to all levels, so whether you are clipping in for the first time or chasing a new personal best, you will leave sweat soaked, clear headed and ready to come back for more.

Indoor Spin Classes at Our Spin Studio in Central

Every indoor spin class at XYZ takes place in the Cave, a room designed to switch off the noise of the city and switch on your focus.
We offer three class formats, each with its own rhythm and purpose.

Class types

STRENGTH

A resistance focused ride built around heavier climbs, endurance blocks and powerful tracks. Expect challenging intervals and coaching that keeps you locked in. Ideal for riders who want stronger legs and deeper cardio fitness.

SPEED

An interval ride driven by sprints, climbs and the beat of the music. High energy, big playlists and a serious cardio challenge. A great choice if you want to build stamina quickly.

WARRIOR

Want a longer sweat? Warrior adds 15 extra minutes of riding for more endurance, more burn and a stronger finish. Perfect for building stamina or making the most of your session.

Not sure which to choose? Start with Speed for the full party atmosphere, then add Strength once you want to build power.

The moment the doors close, the Cave becomes its own world.

Lighting shifts with the music, dropping low for heavy climbs and flashing bright for sprint finishes. Your instructor builds each playlist to match the shape of the ride, so every track has a job to do.

The room is dark enough that nobody is watching you, and loud enough that you stop thinking about anything else. That is the point. For 45 minutes or more, your only task is to ride.

Riders often describe the same arc:

  1. A warm up that settles your breath and finds your rhythm
  2. A build through climbs and intervals as the energy rises
  3. A peak of sprints and choreography where the whole room moves as one
  4. A cool down and stretch that brings your heart rate back to calm

It is this sense of moving together that makes a group spinning class so different from riding alone. Be as one is more than a phrase here. It is how the Cave feels at full volume.

Inside the Cave: What a Spinning Class Feels Like

Benefits of a Regular Spin Class HK Riders Notice

Our founder Belinda Koo believes that a strong cardio system leads to sharper concentration, focus and stamina, and that all you need is to give yourself 50 minutes a day.

Indoor cycling is one of the most efficient ways to put that into practice.

Cardiovascular fitness

Intervals train your heart and lungs to work harder and recover faster.

Calorie burn

Sprints and climbs keep your effort high, making spin one of the most energetic workouts on the schedule.

Low impact on joints

The bike supports your body weight, so you can train hard without the pounding of running.

Lower body strength

Heavier resistance works your quads, glutes, hamstrings and calves.

Mental reset

Loud music and a dark room crowd out stress, leaving you calmer and more focused afterwards.

Measurable progress

Resistance and cadence give you clear markers to beat week after week.

Many of our regulars ride two or three times a week and notice the difference in their energy at work, not just in the studio.

The Cave welcomes every level of rider. Your instructor gives options on resistance and pace throughout, so you control your own effort from start to finish.

Spin is a strong fit if you:

  • Want an efficient cardio session before or after work in Central
  • Prefer the energy of a group to training on your own
  • Are building fitness gradually and need a low impact option
  • Already train hard and want to push your endurance further

For a balanced week, pair your rides with heated strength training classes to build muscle, then use our infrared mobility and recovery sessions to release tight hips and legs after a heavy climb.

You can also get to know the coaches behind each playlist on our meet the instructors page.

Who Our Indoor Spin Class Is For

Your First Spinning Class at XYZ

A first ride should feel exciting, not intimidating. Here is how it works.

  1. Arrive 15 minutes early. Your instructor will help you set up your bike, adjusting seat height and handlebar position for comfort and safety. Latecomers cannot be admitted once class begins.
  2. Collect your cycling shoes. Our bikes use clip in shoes, which we provide free of charge with every session.
  3. Find a fresh towel waiting. A sweat towel is placed on your bike before you arrive.
  4. Store your phone in the locker. The Cave is a phone free space, so you can give the ride your full attention.
  5. Ride at your own pace. Follow the rhythm when you can, ease back when you need to. Nobody expects perfection on day one.

Wear form fitting tights or shorts and a breathable top, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Loose trousers can catch on the pedals, so leave them at home.

Bring: A water bottle is essential to stay hydrated throughout the high-intensity sweat. We provide your cycling shoes and a fresh sweat towel on your bike before you arrive.

It depends on your body weight, effort and the class format. A high intensity indoor spin class can burn several hundred calories, with Speed and Warrior typically at the higher end. Tracking your resistance and cadence over time is a better measure of progress than any single number.

Two to three rides a week suits most people, giving your legs time to recover between sessions. If you ride more often, alternate harder formats like Speed with steadier sessions and mobility work.

Each has its place. Indoor cycling gives you a controlled environment with no traffic, weather or hills to plan around, plus coaching and music that keep the intensity high. It is also far easier to fit a 50 minute ride into a working day in Hong Kong.

Spinning is low impact, which is why many people with sensitive joints find it comfortable. Correct bike setup matters, so let your instructor know before class. If you have an injury or medical condition, check with your doctor first.

Cancellations made less than 12 hours before class, and no shows, will result in the class being deducted from your account. You can read the full details in our cancellation policy.
